Description:
The ZWO ASI585MC Air is a powerful Wi-Fi enabled smart astrophotography camera that integrates a primary imaging sensor, guide sensor, and ASIAIR controller into a single compact unit. Its back-illuminated Sony STARVIS 2 sensor (IMX585) offers excellent sensitivity, 4K resolution, low read noise (0.7e), and a peak quantum efficiency of 91%.

The built-in dual-stage TEC cooling system can lower the sensor temperature by 30–35 °C below ambient, dramatically reducing dark current for long exposures. A magnetic levitation fan provides silent, stable thermal dissipation. The camera’s live stacking support, instant image adjustments, OTA updates, and direct sharing features make astrophotography both accessible and enjoyable.

Connectivity is seamless via 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, supported by an external antenna. The ASI585MC Air features 256GB onboard eMMC storage and supports up to 1TB external drives via USB 2.0. Multiple USB ports, DC outputs, and USB-C interface provide full control of focusers, filter wheels, mounts, and more.

The ASI585MC Air is compatible with ZWO's ASIAIR app, ASIStudio, and 3rd-party software through ASCOM Alpaca protocols, making it a fully autonomous solution for wireless imaging and guiding.

Dual-Band Wi-Fi for Stable Signal

Experience unparalleled connectivity with our enhanced external dual-band antenna, supporting both 2.4G and 5G frequencies and offering stable and smooth usage within 20 meters.

Cross-Platform Device Control
Except from ASIAIR App, ASI2600MC Air can also wirelessly connect to ZWO’s proprietary PC control software, ASIStudio, and also other 3rd-party PC software. 3rd-party software can be controlled through ASCOM extended protocol Alpaca (requires ASCOM Platform version V6.6 or higher).

(Note: 2.4G has a longer transmission distance but slightly slower speed compared to 5G. The 20-meter range is based on multiple tests of the 2.4G frequency in open areas.)

Low Read Noise, High Dynamic Range

The camera has a built-in HCG mode, which can effectively reduce readoutnoise at high gain and allow the camera to maintain the same high dynamicrange as it does at low gain. When the gain is 252, the HCG mode isautomatically turned on and the Dynamic range reaches a level close to 12bit.The readout noise is as low as 0.7e.

Quantum Efficiency

After “ZWO Laboratory” calculation, the peak quantum efficiency of ASI585MC Air is 91%

Data source: This data is from ZWO Laboratory. The actual quantum efficiency peak value is subject to real-world data.

Cooling System

Thanks to the two-stage TEC cooling, ASI585MC Air can lower the CMOS sensor temperature to 30-35 degrees Celsius below ambient temperature, which can greatly reduce dark current generation and sensor noise even during extended exposure times.
