Description
The Celestron C8 EdgeHD is a 203 mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube assembly (OTA) designed to deliver sharp, flat-field images across the entire field of view. Its EdgeHD optics eliminate coma and field curvature, making it ideal for use with wide-field and full-frame astrophotography cameras.
The optical tube features ventilation ports with micro-mesh filters to speed up thermal equilibration and reduce internal turbulence. Mirror locks stabilize the primary mirror during long exposures, minimizing image shift during astrophotography sessions.
The C8 EdgeHD can be used at its native focal ratio of f/10, reduced to f/7 with a dedicated reducer (optional), or converted to a fast f/2 configuration with the HyperStar system (optional), allowing ultra-wide-field imaging with short exposures.
