Description:
The Celestron 1.25" variable polarizing filter is a convenient way to control brightness while observing the brightest celestial targets. Unlike fixed-density lunar or neutral filters, this model allows continuous brightness adjustment from 1% to 40% by simply rotating the lower ring.
Because it does not alter the color of the target, it is an excellent tool for both visual and imaging applications. It enhances lunar surface detail by reducing overall brightness and can also be used to darken the sky background when searching for planets like Venus or Jupiter during daylight.
This filter screws directly onto any 1.25" eyepiece. Both sides of the filter are threaded, allowing it to be stacked with other filters, such as colored or neutral density ones.
Technical specifications:
– Type: variable polarizing filter
– Size: 1.25" (31.75 mm)
– Light transmission: adjustable from 1% to 40%
– Function: customizable brightness reduction
– Compatibility: all Celestron 1.25" eyepieces
– Use cases: Moon, bright planets, double stars
– Threading: dual (stackable with other filters)
– Color shift: none (neutral filter)
Additional information:
This filter is ideal for users seeking adjustable brightness for improved viewing comfort and contrast. Especially useful when observing the Moon in full or near-full phase, it prevents eye strain and reveals details that would otherwise be lost due to glare.
