The PlaneWave IRDK14 is a 356 mm telescope designed specifically for infrared and ultraviolet applications, featuring a pure reflective Dall-Kirkham optical layout. With no refractive elements, it delivers chromatic-aberration-free performance and optimized transmission in specialized spectral regions. The system is diffraction-limited across a 20 mm image circle at the focal plane.
Protected gold coatings ensure better than 98% reflectivity between 650 nm and 5000 nm, making this telescope ideal for IR astronomy, scientific imaging, or LIDAR. UV-optimized coatings are available on request at additional cost.
The telescope utilizes Fused Silica optics, chosen for its superior thermal stability and homogeneity. It is the preferred material for professional-grade astronomical instruments.
The OTA includes a 3.5" Hedrick focuser and a 3" dovetail. The system is Delta T Ready and supports optional heating elements for dew prevention (controller sold separately). A dedicated shipping crate (#1323514) is required and billed separately.
